Ramana Koti
Ramana Koti joined BNIM Architects in 2006 after receiving his Master's degree in Building Design (Energy Performance and Climate Responsive Architecture) from Arizona State University. Prior to his graduate studies, he received a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, India and was involved in architectural practice with reputable organizations in Delhi, India for four years.
Ramana's specialized expertise involves daylighting design and analysis, building energy analysis and moisture analysis of building envelopes through simulation tools. His additional skills and capabilities include climate analysis, solar studies, LEED compliance, and renewable energy. He has keen interest in researching building science related issues and has two papers published at the ASES Conference. Two of his entries to the Sustainable Kansas City competition in 2007 made it to the top 20. Ramana's software skills include DOE-2/eQUEST, Energy-10, DAYSIM, WUFI, Sketchup and AutoCAD, among others.
In his time at BNIM, Ramana has provided building and energy analysis for many of the firm's projects including the Eugene Water and Electric Board Headquarters Building in Eugene, OR, the Energy Centre for Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario and a new renovation and addition in Birmingham, AL for the sustainable development and property management company, Melaver Inc. He is also active in the areas of research and knowledge sharing within Elements.
